a thousand times

You are wind, death, fire, the ocean-god, the moon, the lord of creatures, the great-grandsire. Homage to you a thousand times — and again, and yet again, homage to you.

Original plain-language translation

The hymn names Krishna as every elemental power, then abandons enumeration for sheer repetition: homage a thousand times, and again. When categories fail, devotion repeats — an early statement of the namas-kirtana impulse.
