सर्वस्य विष्ठितम् · sarvasya viṣṭhitam

The light even of lights, said to stand beyond darkness — knowledge itself, the knowable, reached by knowledge, seated in the heart of all.

Original plain-language translation

Light beyond every lamp: the verse gathers knower, known, and knowing into one heart-seated reality. 'Beyond darkness' echoes the Shvetashvatara Upanishad; the Gita places that light within reach — in the heart, not the sky.
