Speech that stirs no distress — truthful, kind, and helpful — together with steady study of scripture: this is called austerity of speech.

Original plain-language translation

IN SHORT Speak truthfully, kindly, and helpfully, and keep learning steadily.

Four filters for every sentence: does it agitate, is it true, is it kind, does it help? Truth alone is not enough — it must be spoken so it can be received. Scripture-study trains the tongue by filling the mind. It is like passing every WhatsApp forward through four checks so no message hurts or misleads anyone.
