declared

Passionate, craving the fruit of action, greedy, harmful, impure, tossed between elation and grief — such a doer is declared rajasic.

Original plain-language translation

The rajasic doer is ruled by appetite: grasping at results, careless of means, swinging with every outcome. Note how impurity here is ethical, not ritual — willingness to harm for gain. The elation-grief pendulum is the sure diagnostic of fruit-clinging.
