Original plain-language translation

The first half of a three-verse sentence (18.51–18.53): the method is purification of intellect, firm self-restraint, sensory withdrawal, and dropping likes and dislikes. These repay Chapters 2 and 6 on sense-mastery. The sentence completes in 18.53 with fitness for Brahman.
