तानि सर्वाणि संयम्य युक्त आसीत मत्परः ।वशे हि यस्येन्द्रियाणि तस्य प्रज्ञा प्रतिष्ठिता ॥

Restraining them all, the disciplined one should sit devoted to me. For whose senses are under control — such a one's wisdom stands firmly established.

Original plain-language translation

Restraint gets its anchor: matparaḥ, 'with me as supreme'. Willpower alone leaks (2.60); devotion plugs the leak by giving the mind somewhere higher to rest. Discipline plus devotion — the Gita's recurring formula — appears here in seed form.
