From anger comes delusion; from delusion, bewilderment of memory; from loss of memory, destruction of understanding — and from destruction of understanding, one perishes.

Original plain-language translation

The chain completes: anger → confusion → forgetting → ruin. Note the hinge is memory (smṛti): anger makes us forget who we are, and a self-forgotten person cannot choose wisely. The whole descent, from brooding to ruin, runs in two verses — memorize the sequence.
