the craver of desires

As waters enter the ocean — ever being filled, yet ever still — so do all desires enter such a one. That is peace; not so for the craver of desires.

Original plain-language translation

Peace defined by image: the ocean receives rivers without rising. Desires still arrive — the sage is not empty of them but unmoved by them. Contrast the boat of 2.67, helpless before one gust; the ocean digests monsoons.
