This is the divine state, O Partha — attaining it, one is deluded no more. Abiding in it even at the hour of death, one reaches extinction in Brahman.

Original plain-language translation

The chapter closes with its summit: brāhmī sthiti, the Brahmic state — and a final mercy, that even deathbed abiding suffices. No lifetime of perfection demanded; steadiness at the end completes the journey. Chapter 3 will ask the obvious next question: if this is the goal, why act at all?
