The seven great seers of old, and the four Manus, were born from my mind, of my being — from them come these creatures in the world.

Original plain-language translation

Cosmic ancestry is traced through mind-born sages to all peoples. Lineage theology makes every family a branch of Krishna's thought. The verse links creation-myth to devotion's object.
