Through Vyasa's grace I have heard this supreme secret, this yoga, directly from Krishna, the lord of yoga, himself as he declared it.

Original plain-language translation

Sanjaya names his source: Vyasa's gift of divine sight made him a direct witness. The chain of grace — Krishna to Arjuna, Vyasa to Sanjaya — mirrors the teaching itself: all hearing is through grace. 'Lord of yoga' seals Krishna's authority over every path taught.
