ब्रह्मार्पणं ब्रह्म हविर्ब्रह्माग्नौ ब्रह्मणा हुतम् ।ब्रह्मैव तेन गन्तव्यं ब्रह्मकर्मसमाधिना ॥

brahmārpaṇaṃ brahma havir brahmāgnau brahmaṇā hutam |brahmaiva tena gantavyaṃ brahmakarmasamādhinā ||

हविः · haviḥ
the oblation
हुतम् · hutam
offered
एव · eva
alone, indeed
तेन · tena
by him
गन्तव्यम् · gantavyam
to be reached, the goal

Brahman is the offering, Brahman the oblation, offered by Brahman into the fire of Brahman. Brahman alone is to be reached by one absorbed in action as Brahman.

Original plain-language translation

Said traditionally before meals, this verse dissolves every ritual ingredient into the Absolute: means, act, agent, and goal are one. For the knower, even eating becomes metaphysics. Non-duality expressed as grace before food.
