शनैः शनैः · śanaiḥ śanaiḥ
little by little
उपरमेत् · uparamet
should come to rest
धृतिगृहीतया · dhṛtigṛhītayā
held by resolve
न चिन्तयेत् · na cintayet
should think of nothing

Little by little he should come to rest, by intellect held with resolve. Making the mind rest in the self, he should think of nothing else.

Original plain-language translation

Hurry is refused twice over: gradualness is the method. Intellect steadied by patience leads the mind home. Thinking of nothing else is the positive face of letting go.
