श्रीभगवान् · śrībhagavān
the Blessed Lord
उवाच · uvāca
said
गुह्यतमम् · guhyatamam
the most secret
प्रवक्ष्यामि · pravakṣyāmi
I shall declare
अनसूयवे · anasūyave
to you who do not carp, who are free of envy
ज्ञात्वा · jñātvā
having known
अशुभात् · aśubhāt
from evil, misfortune

The Blessed Lord said: To you who do not carp I shall declare this most secret knowledge joined with realization — knowing which, you shall be freed from misfortune.

Original plain-language translation

The chapter opens by praising both the teaching and its hearer. Arjuna's freedom from envy makes him fit for the secret. Knowledge here includes lived realization, not mere information — and it liberates.
