यं संन्यासमिति प्राहुर्योगं तं विद्धि पाण्डव ।न ह्यसंन्यस्तसङ्कल्पो योगी भवति कश्चन ॥

Original plain-language translation

Sankalpa, the designing will for personal gain, is the knot both paths must cut. Renunciation and yoga converge on this inner giving-up. Outer labels matter less than this resolve.
